Our new release wideband channels for our 900MHz Tornado X point-to-point radio bring not only significant capacity increases of up to 5120 kbps but also further reduce our latency rates to below 1ms.

Ideally suited for point-to-point Teleprotection and Voice linking where low latency is crucial, the latest release channel bandwidths of 100 and 200kHz will be beneficial to both utilities and public safety agencies. In a 200kHz channel bandwidth, running at 256QAM modulation, the Tornado X can now achieve latency rates of sub 1ms in each direction.

Furthermore, the new wideband channels further increase throughput in narrowband channels with an aggregate full duplex rate of 2560 kbps in 100kHz and 5120 kbps in 200kHz.  This new feature offers utilities the opportunity to run high criticality applications like Teleprotection across the link while being able to leverage residual bandwidth for other less critical applications.  Sophisticated QoS ensures that serial traffic (such as Teleprotection) will be classified as higher priority than IP traffic.
