Ubiik Mimomax Christchurch Internships 2026
Company Overview
Ubiik Mimomax is a leading provider of advanced wireless communications solutions for mission-critical applications. We design and manufacture high-performance narrowband radio systems that deliver exceptional bandwidth, low latency, and high reliability.
Using technologies like MIMO and high-order modulation, our solutions enable superior data throughput in challenging radio environments. Trusted globally, we support critical voice and data communications for public safety, utilities, and other essential infrastructure
Our History
Founded in 2007, the company was formerly known as Mimomax Wireless. Following an acquisition in 2023 by Ubiik, a leading provider of private LTE networks, Mimomax became Ubiik Mimomax.
What we do
Selling into worldwide markets for mission-critical communications, Ubiik Mimomax specializes in engineering wireless products. Our products are designed for high reliability, making us the ideal choice for mission-critical and business-critical wireless applications such as voice communications for public safety/emergency services and data connectivity for critical assets in utility grids.
Internship Information and details below:
1. RF Engineering Internship
Project Summary:
Developing Embedded Transmitter Power measurement
In this project, the student will work with our RF team and will contribute to the development of a transmitter power measurement feature for the Ubiik Mimomax radio platform. The student will be carefully guided to understand the radio principles, to know RF impedance mismatches, and to implement built-in measurements of both the forward (transmitted) power and the reflected power at the transmitter output.
Requirements:
2. FPGA Engineering Internship
Project summary:
This project involves optimising the existing RTL (FPGA) design for synchronous serial. One key aspect of this optimisation is applying control theory to a real-world system.
The student will work with our FPGA engineer and learn through the whole process of FPGA design/implementation/integration and testing.
Requirements:
3. Software Engineering Internship
Project Summary:
Join our engineering team to work on real-world wireless communication systems. The internship focuses on developing SNMP integration features between our network management system and radio platforms, enabling smarter monitoring and control of deployed devices. You’ll also help refine our RMA generation and management processing, improving how we track and handle equipment returns. The work spans C development on systems close to embedded environments, as well as PHP, MySQL, and SQLite; ideal for anyone wanting practical, varied experience beyond the classroom.
Requirements:
4.Test AutomationEngineering Internship
Project Summary:
The project looks to automate configuration testing on one of our new products via the UI interface. The student will work with our test and development engineers who will guide the student through developing \this new test suite.
Requirements:
